Set up a Flow

Navigate to Flows on the tool bar

Click Create New Flow

Name your Flow and give it a brief description.

Step #1: Under "When this happens.." select "Added to List". Make sure you choose the right list, this is entirely up to you!

Now for "This should happen.." Should be selected to "Send Text". Select the template of your choice and this Flow will automatically send it when they are added to the list you choose in Step #1.

Pro tip: Selecting the "ALL" list will make your automatic message a welcome text for every contact added to your account!!

Step #2: Hit "add step" to this Flow so we can follow up if the contact does not respond initially. Use the picture below to help you set this up. Make sure your "total delay" is more than 1 day as this will give them adequate time to respond. Select the template that will go out if they ignored your first message. Congratulations you have automated your first Response!

Drip Campaigns

A drip campaign is a series of messages that will be sent to your contacts over time. A good drip campaign will stop the messages if a customer replies. We will learn how to set it up like this.

Step #1: Is to send the first message in your series. Make sure you are doing this across the same list and that it's the list you want!

Match Step #1 of your Flow up with this screenshot before moving onto step #2

Step #2: Involves setting up a "No Response" event. If the contact does not reply to the initial message in 3 days. This part of the flow will send out another text!! **You can set the delay to however long you want** For the purpose of this tutorial I did 3 days and then a week without a response.

Step #3: The third and final step involves setting up a response for people who do not reply after a week. This is the final message in the Flow and will only be sent if they ignore the first two. Drip Campaigns like this are great for people who want a hands-off approach to texting.

List Transfer

Flows Can be used to move a contact from one list to another! For the purpose of this tutorial, I sent one up to move a customer from the ALL list to a VIP list.

โ€‹Step #1: Is to send a message to every contact asking if they want to join your VIP club/list. This a good place to route your most engaged customers.

Step #2: Involves a "Received Keyword" trigger on the All List. This means if your contact replies with a keyword it will perform a certain action. This is why under "when this happens" we have selected "Move to list" - "VIP". You can choose whichever one you like to be your keyword, I choose VIP for this tutorial.

**Match your flow to the images if you cannot get the Flow to work reach out through our support chat**

Survey

Flows can be an excellent way to survey your customers to see what they are thinking about your business!

Step #1: This flow will send them a survey if they replied with "Y" or "y". These two characters are called keyword triggers. Step #2 will send them a different response since some people will not want to take a survey.

Step #2: This is for the people whom DON'T want to take the survey. Notice the template for this part of the flow is different! The Keyword is "N" and "n", these responses will trigger a different message thanking them for being a customer!

Important things to Note

  • You control the message content through the "Templates" section. Your messages DO NOT have to be the same as mine. These are examples for the purpose of this tutorial!

  • Test your flows with your personal cell and or employees numbers to make sure its working correctly

  • Change these flows around to fit your use case. These are really simple examples feel free to make them complex and tailored to your business needs.
